THE MISSION OF West Angeles Community Development Corporation is to increase social
and economic justice, demonstrate compassion and alleviate poverty as tangible expressions
of the Kingdom of God through the vehicle of community development.
Continuum of Care:
West Angeles CDC is part of a broad movement of Christian churches seeking to promote
social change through Christian Community Development. We do this by meeting acute emergency
needs and also by providing low- and mixed-income housing in and around the Crenshaw District.
Peaceful Neighborhoods:
The CDC seeks to facilitate greater understanding and reconciliation through Community
Dispute Resolution; and
To foster conditions of economic and social justice by local participation, mobilization
of community resources, and raising people's awareness of their ability to shape their own future.
Wealth Creation:
West Angeles CDC realizes that unless the incomes of poor households in South Los Angeles are
augmented, we not only concentrate poverty, but also do not help to grow wealth. We know that
the provision of housing in South Los Angeles targeted only to low-income households does not
adequately respond to residential market demands and may unintentionally cause or intensify
neighborhood problems.
Catalytic Change:
West Angeles CDC cannot rebuilding South Los Angeles on its own. But we insure that all
programs and developments will be impactful, serving as catalysts for additional investment
into the community by other investors, developers and providers.
