Jacqueline D. Jones
Community Assistance Coordinator
Ms. Jacqueline D. Jones currently works as Community Assistance Coordinator at the West Angeles Community Development Corporation, where she is the liaison between the church and community, assisting over 15,000 individuals per year. She is currently responsible for the coordination of the Community Development Department with other non-profit organizations, while overseeing the development and administration of the various programs and grants.
She served as Executive Assistant to the COO of West Angeles Community Development Corporation, in addition to overseeing the accounts receivables duties of the CDC and assisting with the annual Unity Awards Banquet fund-raiser. She has served as our Employment Services Coordinator and assisted with our Entrepreneurial Training and Law Days. Jacqueline is a certified Mediator, which assists with the every day tasks of assisting her clients, and has numerous years of experience in accounting, and both office and business management.
Additionally, she has coordinated and collaborated with the Larry Jones “Feed the Children” Special Food Giveaway, the Energy Assistance Program (EAF) through Southern California Edison & Southern California Gas, the Social Security for the Homeless Program, the Beyond Shelter “Housing First” Program for Homeless Families, and the PATH Homeless Street Outreach Program.
Jacqueline D. Jones strongly believes that people who are connected to their purpose are happier, more resilient and able to achieve maximum success. Her objective is to help individuals become self-sufficient, see souls saved and set free, and living complete and productive lives in the Body of Christ – spiritually, physically, emotionally and economically. She brings her passion for helping people to every aspect of her service to the Church, the Community, and the Body of Christ.
Tonda Jackson
Controller
Tondelia "Tonda" Jackson is the Controller of West Angeles Community Development Corporation in Los Angeles, California. Her primary focus is the financial management of the organization. Continuing her legacy as a long-time institution builder for the underserved, she embraces the CDC's mision to make a tangible difference in the lives of the poor and needy through community development, especially in South Los Angeles. She has a heightened sensitivity and understanding of the needs of disadvantaged communities by working with organizations involved in community development including; the Booker T. Washington Foundation, Washington, D.C. in the 1970's, encouraging minorities to become owners in the cable television industry in its early stages of development; the Woodlawn Organization, Chicago, Illinois in the 1980s, providing housing to low income residents; WATTSHealth Systems in the early 1990s, providing healthcare to those experiencing social and economic inequities; and Smith Barney in the late 1990s, establishing an Investment Center at a Family Savings Bank offering financial services to South Los Angeles.
Earning her Bachelor's Degree in Accounting from Howard University, Washington, D.C. and her Masters of Science Degree in Healthcare Administration from La Verne University, La Verne, California, she has demonstrated her lifetime commitment to improving disadvantaged communities. She is an avid reader and has been a member of Literary Ladies Book Club for more than 20 years.
